ABOUT US AT SRCA

The SRCA formed in March of 2005 to fill a void in the United States roofing trades. Professional slate roofing contractors had heretofore little if any representation in the roofing trades industry, with 95% of all new American roofing being something other than slate. The SRCA is intending to develop traditional slate roofing training programs and instructional materials, and to publish traditional slate roofing installation, repair and restoration standards. We also intend to share our knowledge and comraderie at scheduled conferences (see also 2007 conference article), and to help with non-profit educational endeavors by volunteering labor and materials at specific non-SRCA conferences and workshops (see below). We are also organizing slate roofing professionals and other contractors and making them available to the public via our Contractor Profiles.
